About The Position JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Physician Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Edinburg, Texas Service Setting: Emergency Room (ER) Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: 02/03/2025 08/29/2025 Clinical Shift Schedule: Flexible Schedule PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adult and Pediatric Emergency Medicine Patient Volume/Census: TBD Admissions: Yes, as required for ER patients Case Mix: General Emergency Medicine cases, including trauma and stroke FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: TBD Specialty Backup Available: TBD Support Staff Available: TBD Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: TBD Credentialing Timeline: TBD COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Rate: TBD Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES General Emergency Medicine procedures as expected for an ER physician, including trauma and stroke management. JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active Texas State Medical License Certifications: ACLS (AHA approved) ATLS (AHA approved) PALS (AHA approved) NRP (AHA approved) Experience: Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or Family Medicine (ABFM) or Internal Medicine (ABIM) with 2 years ER experience Residency trained in specialty Additional Requirements: CDS & DEA with Texas address CME from the past 2 years Case logs from the past 2 years Copies of all education and training diplomas Social Security Card, Driver's License, and color photo emailed to MSO Annual requirements: 9 hours of Stroke CME and 9 hours of Trauma CME DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide high-quality emergency medical care to patients in the ER setting. Perform necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of Emergency Medicine. Collaborate with specialty backups and support staff as needed. Maintain compliance with all hospital and departmental policies.
