Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: OR - Operating Room - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN in Texas with BLS certification and Cerner experience for a surgical unit with varied procedures. Responsibilities - Work in the surgery unit of a hospital specializing in diverse surgical procedures - Handles cases such as appendicitis, bone fractures, cholecystitis, subdural hematoma, and hernias - Unit consists of 17 OR rooms and 2 cystoscopy rooms - Uses Cerner for charting and documentation - Day shift schedule with 8-hour shifts, typically 8:00 am to 4:00 pm - Required on-call duties include 1 on-call per week and rotating weekend call every 3 weeks - Two late stays per week expected - Weekend work is required - Floating as needed within skillset - Participate in special procedures including open heart and neuro surgeries - Navy blue scrubs required - CMS Compliance Program Training must be completed within 90 days of hire and annually - Returning travelers must not have worked more than 780 hours in the last 12 months and require a 12-month break after two assignments before returning - Holiday coverage may be required according to unit needs Requirements - Active TX or compact RN license - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - Previous travel nursing experience preferred - Prior Cerner EMR experience preferred - COVID and Flu vaccination required, with medical/religious exceptions accepted Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622173.
