JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Physician - Emergency Medicine (Physician) • Specialty/Dept.: Emergency Medicine • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: McAllen, Texas • Service Setting: Emergency Room (ER) • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: February 3, 2025 August 30, 2025 • Clinical Shift Schedule: Flexible Schedule PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults and Pediatric Patients • Patient Volume/Census: TBD • Admissions: Yes • Case Mix: Emergency and Trauma Cases FACILITY INFORMATION • Trauma Level: Level II Trauma Center • EMR System: TBD • Specialty Backup Available: Cardiology, Surgery, and Other Specialties • Support Staff Available: Registered Nurses (RNs), Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) • Reason for Coverage: Temporary Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Emergency and Trauma Stabilization JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Texas Medical License • Certifications: AHA-approved ACLS, ATLS, NRP, and PALS • Experience: Minimum 2 years in Emergency Medicine (or IM/FM with relevant experience) • Other Qualifications: • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) or Internal Medicine/Family Medicine (ABIM/ABFM) • Recent CME (9 hours Stroke CME, 9 hours Trauma CME annually) • Case logs from the past two years • Copies of all educational and training diplomas • Social Security Card, Driver s License, and a recent color photo • Compliance with TB/Flu requirements DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide high-quality care to patients in the Emergency Department • Perform emergency procedures as required • Collaborate with support staff and specialty backups to manage patient care • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system • Adhere to hospital policies and regulatory compliance standards
