Frequency: Hourly to commence on March 16, 2021 with end of September 30, 2021

Education: Required - 4 year bachelor's or undergraduate degree from an accredited program/university, preferably in one of the following areas: social work, psychology, criminal justice, sociology or related field of study

Preferred - Graduate degree from accredited program/university in a related field

Experience: Required - 1 year related experience and/or training

Preferred - 2 plus years related experience and/or training

Supervises: Case Managers

Summary: The lead case manager is responsible for using sound professional judgment and best practices to ensure quality case management services and the swift reunification of the service population and their family/sponsor(s) while maintaining compliance with established state and federal standards and requirements. To successfully perform this job, the employee may be expected to perform the following, with or without reasonable accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990:

Essential Functions:

  1. Communicate with families and/or prospective sponsor(s) within the specified timeframe to discuss the role of BCFS HHS and the reunification process.

  2. Process the sponsor information necessary for reunification within the required timeframe.

  3. Actively participate in case staffing meetings with the Administration for Child and Family, Office of Refugee Resettlement/Department of Children's Services Field Coordinator and follow-up with recommendations. Approved (ADA) Rev.4/11/19

  4. Meet with each assigned child one time between Sunday and Saturday and as requested by child. 5. Meet all deadlines required by program supervisor and federal partners

  5. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish.

Measurable Deliverables:

  1. Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position. 2. Maintain a case load in accordance with agency policies and procedures and licensing and contract standards.

  2. Complete Case Management Tracking for each assigned child.

  3. Review completed family reunification packets for accuracy and follow up with sponsor to discuss any issues identified.

  4. Complete and submit all relevant forms to the Department of Children's Services with a copy of Family Reunification Packet.

  5. Receive approved interim Verification Release Form, review with child and obtain child's signature.

  6. Prepare sponsors to successfully complete and sign all required forms and documents. Forward original documents to Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR) with a copy to Department of Homeland Security.

  7. Complete and submit notice to Executive Office of Immigration Review when Contractor issues approval to release the child.

  8. Assist children during departure/reunification, as needed.

  9. Participate in scheduled meetings and team decisions and operations.

  10. Participate in workshops, seminars, education programs and activities that promote professional growth and development.

  11. Compile, prepare, submit and maintain accurate records, files, forms, statistics and additional information in accordance with agency policies, licensing and/or contract requirements.

  12. Review and sign children's records in accordance with agency policies and procedures and applicable licensing and contract standards.

  13. Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested by position supervisor.

  14. Implement BCFS safety protocols including evacuating with children and other staff in case of an emergency.

  15. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.

  16. Maintain BCFS HHS professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in BCFS employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times.

Credentials, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position including but not limited to FirstAidCPREmergencyBehaviorInterventionOther:

  2. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times.

  3. Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.

  4. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.

  5. Demonstrate the ability to:

a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics

b. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish

c. Work in a fast paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times

d. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position Approved (ADA) Rev.4/11/19

e. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team

  1. Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Residential Services policies and procedures.
