Functional area: Operations & Maintenance
Remuneration: Non-Exempt -As Wind Farm Technician II, you support
the overall operations and maintenance of one or more wind farms
and all related facilities to assure safety and maximize
availability in accordance with Operations mission. - This role is
responsible for safe execution of scheduled maintenance,
troubleshooting and repair activities, training, and safety
exercises. This job also maintains accountability and readiness of
plant tools, equipment, and vehicles; provides technical guidance
to the O&M team; tracks, and maintains records of service
activities both scheduled and unscheduled through the digital
maintenance management system; and helps maintain the work ethic
and culture of the plant O&M team. -Responsibilities:
Assure that all operation and
maintenance activities are performed in a safe manner consistent
with policies and procedures established for the wind farm
siteAssist in conducting acceptance and performance tests on
systems and equipment following planned maintenance or
outagesPerform safety and other wind farm related tasks when
assigned and fill in as back up to personnel at other RWE sites
when necessaryAssist with turbine maintenance including services,
major component work and replacement, and troubleshootingAssist
with Balance of Plant procedures as needed, including substation
and collection system maintenanceAdherence to the company's values
and behaviorsOther duties and responsibilities as assigned by the
manager -Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, associate degree in Sciences or
related field from an accredited school preferred
- Minimum 4 -years of work experience in operations and/or
maintenance in power generation, transmission and/or distribution,
with at least 2 years in wind turbine experienceAlternatively 2
year or 4 year college degree from an accredited school (other than
correspondence or on-line) in a technical science like engineering,
physics, power, or closely similar
- Wind Turbine Experience in Vestas, GE, Acciona, Nordex, etc. is
-preferredMilitary experience in a technical field (electrical,
electronics or mechanical)License or Certification experience
substitutions include Current Journeyman, Current Master
Electrician License, and Wind Tech CertificateUnrestricted driver
license in good standingWilling to relocate to within 1 hour drive
of siteMust be able to maintain a personal weight limitation of 270
lbs.Must be able to climb wind towers on a daily basis. -During
this task, employee must be able to open/close hatch doors and
identify potential safety hazardsMust be able to balance to: (1)
work in closed and small swaying areas on top of and within wind
towers(2) walk across small surface areas to access areas within
wind turbines - - - - - - - - - - - -Ability to push/pull/lift
tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.Ability to work safely in
extreme environments (hot sun, cold, etc.)Ability to walk, climb,
and stand extensively during the work dayAbility to follow standard
work instructionsAbility to perform basic rigging &
signalingKnowledge of and experience with the use of hand and power
toolsKnowledge of environmental and safety policies and
proceduresAbility to work within tight deadlinesAbility to work
independently and as part of a teamAbility and willingness to
travel to and from job sites as assigned Intermediate PC/Laptop
skills Ability to create & save documents and spreadsheets in

perform basic troubleshooting and repairs of electromechanical
systemsAbility to read, interpret, and follow electrical,
mechanical, & hydraulic circuit drawingsIdentify energy isolation
points and implement LOTO for protectionIntermediate understanding
of electromechanical relay, hydraulic accumulator, linear
transducer, and electrical motorKnowledge of power electronics,
motor drives, AC/DC convertersKnowledge of computer network
communication protocol and theory of operation is desiredAbility to
understand and communicate root causes requiredGood communication
skills and must value being part of a teamSafety- Promote safety
for all at all timesKnowledge of JHA/LOTO/Tailboard formsInitiative
- Able to work with minimum supervision and make decisions for all
issues related to his/her discipline(s) with limited and/or
available informationWind Farm site location including work in and
around energized wind turbine generators and balance of plant
equipment (substation, pad mount transformers, etc.). The work will
occur within an office, warehouse, in turbines and outdoorsMust be
